When God Doesn't Fix It - Prelim: Make Your Heart Ready for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

As I’m preparing to lead our study, When God Doesn’t Fix It, I'm in Matthew 3:7-12 this morning. Totally appropriate for this week before Easter; check it out! Read the passage so you can discover the story as it unfolds.

In the KJV, verse 8, "Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance." Let's take a look at the words closer: 

  1. Bring #4160 poieo (pya-eh'-o) literally means to construct, make ready, shoot forth and so at the same time to institute
  2. Fruits #2590 karpos (kar-pos') translates to praises presented as a thank offering
  3. Meet #514 axios (ax'-ee-os) weighing, befitting
  4. Repentance #3341 metanoia (met-an'-oy-ah) a change of mind of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done; reversal of decision
In verse 10, "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire." 

  1. Hewn #1581 ekkopto (ek-kop'-to) cut down, cut off, eliminate, to frustrate, to hinder
  2. Cast #906 ballo (bal'lo) to throw or let go of a thing without caring where it falls; scatter; give over to one's care uncertain about the result; pour into of rivers
  3. Fire #4442 pur (poor) with fire
God's timing, so perfect. The All Knowing God of Creation knows my heart so well. I have need of cleansing everyday but more so right now than in a while. His timing is impecable.

A Word He seems to whisper in my ear today is to cut down every thing that does not bear good fruit, make ready for a new season by purging your heart of the old and making room for the new. Amy,  I am here ready to do a new work in you as soon as I see the fruit of your repentance and the praise that comes forth as a result."

Friends, I am praying for you this morning as you're making preparations for the Easter weekend of death, burial and resurrection remembrance. Make ready for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is coming to give purpose to your circumstances! He has a work to do in you and thru you for His Greater Purpose!

Impulsivity

     Jude 20, "But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit."     Jesus Christ represents to me a calm strength in the every day circumstances of life; panic is not even a shadow in his temperment.  Impulsivity is the opposite.  It is a loud voice in the world that screams to be heard.  Panic is it's MO (Mode of Operation).  Impulsivity stunts our spiritual growth.  Learning how to discipline the impulse to act hastily, or speak too quickly, is key.   Replace your impulsive responses to the every day, 24/7 circumstances, with a slowly developed habit of praying first before speaking or acting.  It may just save you from real embarassment.  Lean into God for an understanding of your circumstances and pray to discern His wisdom and word.  Learning not to be in the center, and live exceptionally in the ordinary, is not easily acquired.

Don't Lose Heart IN the Process

     Coming away from the our 4th Annual Girlfriends Get-a-Way brings an altogether new prospective on this life God has called me to live.... away from Insecurity and Abandonment... praying to know the heart of God in others.... letting go of the past....  forgiving and living and being more intentional about it.... drinking in God's Goodness.... living by FAITH and TRUST to "Reap the Harvest He promised me.... I rejoice today for I shall recover it all."      Matthew 7:13-14, "Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."      God never promised me an easy road in this life; I'm continuing to learn how to "rouse myself up" to appreciate the working out of my Salvation in Christ especially in the difficulties that come.  The Question
